Adv: BeautyKeeper Box

I think I'm potentially the worst SS seeder. Ever.
I take forever to post an advertorial. Not because I'm irresponsible okay, it's simply because I'm lazy af. Hahahahaha.
Confirm make the PR/marketing team damn annoyed and anxious?! Hehehe

Anywaaaaaaaay, before I get too lazy again, today I'll talk about a BeautyKeeper Box that consists of 3 products.

I think before I start my review or go into any detail, these products are (I guess you can say) sponsored by BeautyKeeper.
Basically BeautyKeeper is the Taiwan version of Sephora - meaning that you can get your favourite Taiwanese beauty products via them. This means that you're able to get your hands on products by brands such as CONTIN and MD/AA.

Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's start with the shampoo first!

CONTIN Plant Extract Shampoo (S$37/-)

To be perfectly honest, I've only really used this shampoo once.
But not because it doesn't work or whatsoever. But simply because I just bleached my hair about a month ago, so I'm more concern about maintaining my hair colour and condition, as compared to controlling dandruff.
And also, I don't really have dandruff. I do have a little sensitive and oily scalp and it does peel when irritated or when I scratch it too often when it gets itchy. Especially so when I was my hair on alternate days. Yes, I know washing my hair daily isn't good as it strips away all the oil. But if I don't, it gets really, really, really itchy and oily that it's worse?!?!
So I have to be really honest that I'm unable to comment on how effective it is against dandruff.

As you can see on the bottle, it says that it is a plant extract shampoo. And according to the information provided on BeautyKeeper's website, the plant is garlic!
Weird??? Not really actually, because garlic is a well-known health product that boosts your immune system! Really, this one is tried and tested by like the older people around me. So if you want to live long and healthily, eat an entire bulb of garlic every day! Haha okay lah, one bulb a bit too much, start off with a clove?

If garlic can really bring you such great health benefits, who's to say that it wouldn't be good as a deterrent towards dandruff?

What I liked about the shampoo is that the smell stayed on. It's really, really difficult to find one which does. However, it's not such a great thing because I didn't really like the smell after a long time. Lololol. It is the kind of smell which you either really like, or really hate. It kind of reminds me of old men's cologne??
Another thing that I didn't really like was that it didn't seem as soapy as the current shampoo that I'm using? I have really thick and long hair, I really appreciate shampoo that has more alkaline because it's difficult for me to really get into my scalp when I wash my hair. So I prefer shampoo that is more soapy because I feel that I use lesser product and my scalp feels cleaner.

Nevertheless, I still intend to finish using the product after I'm done using my current shampoo, because this shampoo claims to be good for itchy and oily scalp, which as I mentioned earlier, I suffer from. I think should try using the shampoo for a longer period of time - perhaps a few weeks - and then try not washing my hair for a day or two. See if my scalp still itches and if there's less oil.
If I really do that, I promise I'll TRY not to be lazy and give y'all an update!

There is a lot more information on the shampoo, but I really don't want to bore you with the technical details - at least to me - so please head to BeautyKeeper's website to learn more about it, as well as CONTIN.

Next up, are the MD/AA skincare products!

Pulsed Mask Foaming Face Cleanser (S$63/-)

First up is the cleanser!
This is what the website says:

  • Function: Gently clean while increase skin hydration and smoothness, tighten pores and condition oil secretion.
  • Directions for Use: Use twice daily in the morning and evening. No hand-rubbing needed. Clean quickly in 30 seconds and rinse off with warm water. Suitable for all skin types, especially for acne-prone skin or skin damaged by makeup. For better results, the use along with other MD/AA Jiao products is highly recommended.
  • Precautions: For external use only. Avoid eye area. Stop use if irritation occurs.

On to what I like, is that it cleans REALLY well.
I don't even have to use a makeup remover before this, and it manages to wipe off all my makeup.
So what happened was that I got home, took the above-mentioned photos and just applied the cleanser straight to my face. Massaged it a little and washed it off. After which, I grazed my fingernails over my face and there weren't any makeup beneath my nails. I WAS AMAZED!
Not exaggerating, because even my makeup remover doesn't remove my makeup so damn well?!
What I had on my face was my BB cream, powder foundation and blusher - and they were all gone!
Usually when I use my oil-based liquid makeup remover, there will always be remnants of my BB cream, which is why I was so impressed by this.
However, please note that after cleaning, my face felt squeaky clean, which I know a lot of people do not like. But me, on the other hand, LOVE ITTTTTTT. Hahahaha I don't understand why people hate it??? Maybe because I have really oily skin, so I appreciate a really clean and fresh face, which is very rare to have.

Oh, oh, another thing that I really like is the smell!
I don't know why, but it smells a lot like Snail White. And also a bit of aloe vera??
It also claims to contain a unique molecular oxygen formula and have a miraculous oxygen binding capacity.
I didn't know this, before I snapped my pictures, so I was a little shocked when I experienced it.

When I first pumped the product on my hand it looked like your typical gel based cleanser.
But I didn't immediately snap a picture because I was fumbling around for my camera and the lighting and everything. So by the time I took the image, it turned to this:

Hahahahahahaha it just turned into foam without me even touching it?????
If I did, I wouldn't even be able to take this photo because my right hand would have the product, right?!
So I had to pump the product again and quickly snap a picture before it lathered, and this is how it really looks like:

Soooooo weird, right?! Like how can it turn foamy without me adding water to it, or even touching it!
So I just found out that it's because of its unique molecular oxygen formula that I mentioned earlier.
Sounds soooo technical, but essentially, what it's trying to say is that this exclusive formula "absorbs oxygen and forms rich lather without rubbing, and also delivers oxygen to the skin" because it is "filled in liposome via advanced technology". I struck it off because it still sounds very technical. What you just need to know is that it absorbs oxygen and turns into foam by its own without rubbing.
Which brings me to the point that, I did NAT know that oxygen makes something foamy???
But I guess it makes sense because whenever I want to froth my products, I always add water and it always does the trick.

Anyway, so I just applied the product to my dry - albeit oily -  face and it just lathers by it's own.

And I think it's worth mentioning that it makes a weird noise when I leave the product on for a while and start rubbing my face. Prettaye loudly too, as evident:

I read a fellow SS seeder's review, and she did an experiment on this product removing certain cosmetics. According to the experiment, the results weren't as good as what I experienced.
I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's the type/brand of cosmetics, or maybe simply because most of my makeup has already worn off after a day at work.
But I guess it's because I used a lot of products, because of the photo-taking incident? After it foamed, I just applied the product from the back of my hand to my cheek. And after I've taken the 'before' photo, I also just applied the product directly from the back of my hand to my other cheek. After that I also gave it another good pump and spread it to the rest of my face.
I think it's also because I left it on for a while - you can see it in the video. It has already stopped lathering and has hardened to the point whereby it just wipes off cleanly.
I'm not sure why, but if you do decide to get this product, please note that it doesn't claim to be a makeup remover. The segment about it removing makeup is just purely what I observed and liked about it!

Also, she mentioned that the product is very gentle. Again, it could be because I left it on for a long time and because I used a lot of product. Really, it's to each (her) own.

MD/AA Jiao Herbal Acne Control SOS Stick (S$26/-)

Lastly, is the SOS stick that is "Antibiotic-free and Emergency Remedy for Acne)!
Similar to the cleanser, it claims to absorb oxygen and repair the skin. It can also cure the discomfort from acne and blackholes. Honestly, I don't really understand the second sentence. What is cure the discomfort from blackholes?! The only discomfort I get from blackholes - if blackholes are even a thing - is because I have trypophobia. Hahahaha.

What's really cool about this is its packaging.

At first, I didn't know how to get the product out. I tried to squeeze the tube - don't laugh - but nothing happened. So I just tried to twist the top, and surprisingly it worked.

Anywaaaaay, I'm not sure if it's really as effective as it claims. I tried it on an active pimple, and even though it does reduce its size and dry it up, the pimple was already about to be 'ripe'. So I'm not sure if it dried up due to the product, or just because it is time for it to be.
Nonetheless, I'll use it intermittently for now and see if it really works.

All in all, out of all the products, I really like the cleanser the best.
It really does cleanse well and it smells great, so I'm keeping it and am still using it!

Again, please note that there may be differing results for different people. It really depends on the users and how well their skin react to the products.
So, it may or may not work as well for you as it did for me.

If you're interested in getting either of the products, head over to www.beauty-keeper.com and check them out!
