Adv: J&J Hair Identity

ISTG I've said this in my previous post, but this blog is only survived by SS reviews these days lol
This time round, it wasn't a product that I was sponsored, but a service!
It's a first for me, because most of the services that are offered aren't to my liking or suitable for me.
Anyway, this time it was for something that I really, really needed.
A HAIR COLOURING SERVICE.
Why I say I really need it, was because the last time I did my hair at the salon was moooonths ago.
I didn't have the time to do my hair before CNY that I resorted buying the Liese Bubble hair dye..
And also, my hair was suuuuper long, and it can't hold onto any colour for long, so it was really not worth it to dye my hair.
So obviously I jumped at the opportunity when SampleStore contacted me to ask if I was interested to do this.

Anyway, it was a new salon called J&J Hair Identity located at Katong Square. It's a relatively new mall in Katong/Joo Chiat/East Coast area, but a little too quiet.
The salon was nicely renovated and decorated as well, and not like the other salons that I've been to. Here, it was more spacious and welcoming.

To be honest, I was a little afraid and hesitant before the appointment. Because I haaaaate it when people try to sales talk me. But surprisingly, there was none???
I mean I did buy something from them, but that was on my own accord and I'm always on the prowl for good hair products.
My appointment was at 12pm, so I didn't have my lunch before that.
The director, Shine, who also did my hair that day was soon sweet, ISTG.
He found out and bought me toast from Killiney. WHY SO SWEET!!

Anyway, I didn't really have a colour I wanted in mind, so I just said what every hairdressers' favourite client would say, 'Anything loh. Nice can already.'. Hahahah for real, I didn't mind any colour, so long as it looked good on me, and makes me look good.
After taking a look at the condition of my hair, Shine decided that it'll be best to not bleach my hair, since it was already bleached before.
Also, my hair had a tinge of red from my previous dye job, so he concluded that it'll be good to give me a reddish-violet colour with some very mild highlights.
To be honest, even though I mentioned that I didn't mind any colour, I was still very scared when he suggested red. Because what if it's sooo bright it looks very auntie?! I will die sia!!
But in the end I was like, 'You know what? Screw it, let's just do this! And meanwhile just cut off all the dead parts of my hair.'
So I ended up cutting off 6 inches...
No regrets tho! My hair is much lighter and looks a thousand times healthier!
The process was pretty simple and straight-forward: Cut > Dye > Wash > Treatment > Dry > Style.
Before

After

The after damn chio riiiiiight?!
And it was sooo satisfying to see the dead ends being cut off! If you look closely, you'll see that the top is darker than the bottom.

And this is how it looks like under white light and curled and styled by Shine.
The balayage/ombre is more obvious in this photo, and I actually think it's really pretty, despite my initial fears!

The brand of the hair dye is Natulique and it claims to only use certified organic ingredients.

I know what you're thinking, like, 'Meh, every hair salon in Singapore claims that their hair dye is ammonia free and doesn't damage your hair, yada-yada.'
But the thing is, I really feel that my hair wasn't damaged after colouring. Even my friends have said that my hair looks much healthier now.
You may think that it was the Argan oil treatment that they did for me, but even 2 weeks after that, my hair is still in the same - or even better - condition than it was before my visit.
So anyway, Natulique doesn't only do hair dyes, but also organic hair care products, whiiiiiich, I bought..

This is a leave-on hair cream which you use after washing your hair when it's still wet.
I haven't tried it yet because I'm still using my current one which is from Japan.
But I bought this without Shine even promoting it was because the condition of my hair is really bad that I need to use leave-on treatment cream for it to survive.
This one is actually made in Denmark and smells really good, so I'm actually quite excited to start on this.
It's a little expensive tho.. It's $42, whereas my current one is only $28.. So I hope it's worth it!

So if you're feeling up to a pampering session, take a look at what colours they have, make an appointment and drop by:

Adv: Hiruscar Anti-Acne Range

I realised that even though this space is kept alive mostly (99%) by SS updates/reviews, y'all really still support me because my hits aren't 0 hahahaha. And because of that, I love all of you!
Which brings me to my next point... here's another SS review!
This won't be as exciting as my previous Swoosh Down the Woosh post, but I guess it is still very relatable (at least to me)!
This brand isn't a new one, because I did a post back in... 2015? on this brand.
But that was on an anti-scar product, and this time, it is an anti-acne one.
Yes, it's none other than the Hiruscar Anti-Acne line.
Before we continue, I'd like to apologise for the lack of pretty photos, like the ones my other fellow SS ambassadors take and post.
If you haven't noticed, I'm extremeeeeeeeeeely lazy. Hehehehe.

As its name suggests, it cures and prevents acne. It even claims to improve your acne in 2 days by reducing pimples and lighten spots without drying your skin.

This dermatological skincare is formulated specifically for acne prone skin, which alas! Is MINEEE.
To be clear, I've NEVER had clear skin in my entire life since puberty.
I've always, always, always had poor complexion and overly oily skin.
Which is also why I was really excited to try this.
Hiruscar claims that this line is lightweight and is easily absorbed into the skin. It is also gentle and does not dry out your skin and can be used under makeup.
Okay, to be honest, this I find a little confusing.
Because, how can you have a product that is made specially for acne prone skin, yet gentle?
I don't know. Maybe it's possible, but to me, I've always found that acne prone skin = oily skin = foamy cleanser = squeaky clean = good.
I read somewhere which says that if a product leaves your face squeaky clean, it means that it is drying your face out. But to me, I like squeaky clean! Because it means that my face is oil-free! No?!
I know my mentality is wrong, but with my really oily skin and very acne prone face, I don't think I can think otherwise.
So even though I was really excited to try this out, I wasn't really exactly hopeful, because a lot of products, which seemed promising to others, did not work as well for me.

AND, if you remember correctly - go back and read my previous post if you don't! - the previous Hiruscar product didn't really work that well for me.
It didn't prevent any acne from popping up, which was one of its features. Instead, I had new ones forming.
Fortunately for this, it's not the same!!
I didn't have new ones forming, and this cured some of my existing ones. Sorta.
Not very convincing, but it's better than none.
I'll come to this later!! I need to finish introducing the range first, but I keep getting distracted!!

Okok, so this range includes a cleanser, a serum and a spot gel.

Hiruscar Anti Acne Pore Purifying Cleanser

What it is: Basically, it is a gentle formula which - as mentioned earlier - cleanses the skin without drying it, and of course removes excess dirt and sebum. As an anti-acne cleanser, it also balances the skin's moisture.

Directions: As with other cleanser, you just have to massage the gel on your wet face and rinse thoroughly.

What I liked about it:
1) Even though it is a gel, unlike others, it gets soapy when you rub your hands together. Even though it doesn't really lather and create a lot of foam, it still feels like it does cleanse your face.
I don't really know how to explain it. But for me, when I'm getting a cleanser, I like to look for one which produces a LOT of foam. That's why I avoid getting gel-based cleansers. Because they're gentler and don't really help oily and acne prone skin, at least to me.
So I was really surprised that this cleanser, gave my skin a clean feeling even though it claims to be gentle and it is a gel cleanser.

2) It also smells quite pleasant, which is ALWAYS a plus point. To hell with non-scented products BECAUSE I WANT TO SMELL AH-MAY-ZING.

3) It comes in a pump bottle, which is good because it is convenient when you're using it in the bathroom. However, it is sort of a double-edge sword in this case because of its twist feature..

What I didn't like about it:
1) Its twist feature on the pump. It is one of those twist to lock and twist to open kind of pump. It's honestly quite annoying, because the difference between both is so small, that I keep accidentally locking it when I'm trying to pump the product out. And that's also why I wouldn't trust bringing it on a trip. I'd still prefer the old screw cap, disc cap or flip cap if I had to pack a bottle of cleanser for a trip. Go google if you don't understand. Because I had to google them to find their actual names LOL.

Hiruscar Anti Acne Pore Purifying Serum

It does look a little..... weird... #ifyouknowwhatimean

What it is: A light-weight moisturiser that is has a non-greasy texture, which reduces excessive sebum and tightens pores.

Directions: Simple to use, just apply it across your face twice daily (once in the morning, once before bedtime) after cleansing.

What I liked about it:
1) Nothing in particular...

What I didn't like about it:
1) The smell. I don't know why. I just didn't like the way it smelled.
What I don't understand, is why can't they just make its scent the same as the cleanser?!

Hiruscar Anti Acne Spot Gel

What it is: It is, well, a spot gel that reduces acne problems such as blackheads, whiteheads and pimples as it contains Salicylic Acid. It also has 'Vitamin C derivative to lighten acne spots and dark marks' and 'MPS to maintain skin's moisture'. If you're asking what MPS is, all I know is that it is the short form for - are you ready? - Mucopolysaccharide polysulphate. What is it? I also don't know. I'm only told that it maintain's your skin moisture. Wo ye bu zhi dao.

Directions: Apply a thin layer on affected areas, 2-3 times daily.

What I liked about it and what I didn't like about it:
I'm gonna just lump these 2 portions together, because I'm still on the fence for this product.
It did help with a few 'fresh' pimples, but the old ones, not so much.
I have this really, really, really, really, really stubborn pimple that refuses to go away. And it has been with me for MONTHS.
Unfortunately, it did not help to get rid of this. I don't knowwwwww. Maybe nothing will everrrrrrr!!! :''''''''''''''((((((((((

I'm also unsure about the part where they claim that it improves my pimples in just 2 days..
See and judge for yourself (proceed if you're not afraid to get nightmares from seeing my bare face hehehe).

Adv: BeautyKeeper Box

I think I'm potentially the worst SS seeder. Ever.
I take forever to post an advertorial. Not because I'm irresponsible okay, it's simply because I'm lazy af. Hahahahaha.
Confirm make the PR/marketing team damn annoyed and anxious?! Hehehe

Anywaaaaaaaay, before I get too lazy again, today I'll talk about a BeautyKeeper Box that consists of 3 products.

I think before I start my review or go into any detail, these products are (I guess you can say) sponsored by BeautyKeeper.
Basically BeautyKeeper is the Taiwan version of Sephora - meaning that you can get your favourite Taiwanese beauty products via them. This means that you're able to get your hands on products by brands such as CONTIN and MD/AA.

Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's start with the shampoo first!

CONTIN Plant Extract Shampoo (S$37/-)

To be perfectly honest, I've only really used this shampoo once.
But not because it doesn't work or whatsoever. But simply because I just bleached my hair about a month ago, so I'm more concern about maintaining my hair colour and condition, as compared to controlling dandruff.
And also, I don't really have dandruff. I do have a little sensitive and oily scalp and it does peel when irritated or when I scratch it too often when it gets itchy. Especially so when I was my hair on alternate days. Yes, I know washing my hair daily isn't good as it strips away all the oil. But if I don't, it gets really, really, really itchy and oily that it's worse?!?!
So I have to be really honest that I'm unable to comment on how effective it is against dandruff.

As you can see on the bottle, it says that it is a plant extract shampoo. And according to the information provided on BeautyKeeper's website, the plant is garlic!
Weird??? Not really actually, because garlic is a well-known health product that boosts your immune system! Really, this one is tried and tested by like the older people around me. So if you want to live long and healthily, eat an entire bulb of garlic every day! Haha okay lah, one bulb a bit too much, start off with a clove?

If garlic can really bring you such great health benefits, who's to say that it wouldn't be good as a deterrent towards dandruff?

What I liked about the shampoo is that the smell stayed on. It's really, really difficult to find one which does. However, it's not such a great thing because I didn't really like the smell after a long time. Lololol. It is the kind of smell which you either really like, or really hate. It kind of reminds me of old men's cologne??
Another thing that I didn't really like was that it didn't seem as soapy as the current shampoo that I'm using? I have really thick and long hair, I really appreciate shampoo that has more alkaline because it's difficult for me to really get into my scalp when I wash my hair. So I prefer shampoo that is more soapy because I feel that I use lesser product and my scalp feels cleaner.

Nevertheless, I still intend to finish using the product after I'm done using my current shampoo, because this shampoo claims to be good for itchy and oily scalp, which as I mentioned earlier, I suffer from. I think should try using the shampoo for a longer period of time - perhaps a few weeks - and then try not washing my hair for a day or two. See if my scalp still itches and if there's less oil.
If I really do that, I promise I'll TRY not to be lazy and give y'all an update!

There is a lot more information on the shampoo, but I really don't want to bore you with the technical details - at least to me - so please head to BeautyKeeper's website to learn more about it, as well as CONTIN.

Next up, are the MD/AA skincare products!

Pulsed Mask Foaming Face Cleanser (S$63/-)

First up is the cleanser!
This is what the website says:

  • Function: Gently clean while increase skin hydration and smoothness, tighten pores and condition oil secretion.
  • Directions for Use: Use twice daily in the morning and evening. No hand-rubbing needed. Clean quickly in 30 seconds and rinse off with warm water. Suitable for all skin types, especially for acne-prone skin or skin damaged by makeup. For better results, the use along with other MD/AA Jiao products is highly recommended.
  • Precautions: For external use only. Avoid eye area. Stop use if irritation occurs.

On to what I like, is that it cleans REALLY well.
I don't even have to use a makeup remover before this, and it manages to wipe off all my makeup.
So what happened was that I got home, took the above-mentioned photos and just applied the cleanser straight to my face. Massaged it a little and washed it off. After which, I grazed my fingernails over my face and there weren't any makeup beneath my nails. I WAS AMAZED!
Not exaggerating, because even my makeup remover doesn't remove my makeup so damn well?!
What I had on my face was my BB cream, powder foundation and blusher - and they were all gone!
Usually when I use my oil-based liquid makeup remover, there will always be remnants of my BB cream, which is why I was so impressed by this.
However, please note that after cleaning, my face felt squeaky clean, which I know a lot of people do not like. But me, on the other hand, LOVE ITTTTTTT. Hahahaha I don't understand why people hate it??? Maybe because I have really oily skin, so I appreciate a really clean and fresh face, which is very rare to have.

Oh, oh, another thing that I really like is the smell!
I don't know why, but it smells a lot like Snail White. And also a bit of aloe vera??
It also claims to contain a unique molecular oxygen formula and have a miraculous oxygen binding capacity.
I didn't know this, before I snapped my pictures, so I was a little shocked when I experienced it.

When I first pumped the product on my hand it looked like your typical gel based cleanser.
But I didn't immediately snap a picture because I was fumbling around for my camera and the lighting and everything. So by the time I took the image, it turned to this:

Hahahahahahaha it just turned into foam without me even touching it?????
If I did, I wouldn't even be able to take this photo because my right hand would have the product, right?!
So I had to pump the product again and quickly snap a picture before it lathered, and this is how it really looks like:

Soooooo weird, right?! Like how can it turn foamy without me adding water to it, or even touching it!
So I just found out that it's because of its unique molecular oxygen formula that I mentioned earlier.
Sounds soooo technical, but essentially, what it's trying to say is that this exclusive formula "absorbs oxygen and forms rich lather without rubbing, and also delivers oxygen to the skin" because it is "filled in liposome via advanced technology". I struck it off because it still sounds very technical. What you just need to know is that it absorbs oxygen and turns into foam by its own without rubbing.
Which brings me to the point that, I did NAT know that oxygen makes something foamy???
But I guess it makes sense because whenever I want to froth my products, I always add water and it always does the trick.

Anyway, so I just applied the product to my dry - albeit oily -  face and it just lathers by it's own.

And I think it's worth mentioning that it makes a weird noise when I leave the product on for a while and start rubbing my face. Prettaye loudly too, as evident:

I read a fellow SS seeder's review, and she did an experiment on this product removing certain cosmetics. According to the experiment, the results weren't as good as what I experienced.
I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's the type/brand of cosmetics, or maybe simply because most of my makeup has already worn off after a day at work.
But I guess it's because I used a lot of products, because of the photo-taking incident? After it foamed, I just applied the product from the back of my hand to my cheek. And after I've taken the 'before' photo, I also just applied the product directly from the back of my hand to my other cheek. After that I also gave it another good pump and spread it to the rest of my face.
I think it's also because I left it on for a while - you can see it in the video. It has already stopped lathering and has hardened to the point whereby it just wipes off cleanly.
I'm not sure why, but if you do decide to get this product, please note that it doesn't claim to be a makeup remover. The segment about it removing makeup is just purely what I observed and liked about it!

Also, she mentioned that the product is very gentle. Again, it could be because I left it on for a long time and because I used a lot of product. Really, it's to each (her) own.

MD/AA Jiao Herbal Acne Control SOS Stick (S$26/-)

Lastly, is the SOS stick that is "Antibiotic-free and Emergency Remedy for Acne)!
Similar to the cleanser, it claims to absorb oxygen and repair the skin. It can also cure the discomfort from acne and blackholes. Honestly, I don't really understand the second sentence. What is cure the discomfort from blackholes?! The only discomfort I get from blackholes - if blackholes are even a thing - is because I have trypophobia. Hahahaha.

What's really cool about this is its packaging.

At first, I didn't know how to get the product out. I tried to squeeze the tube - don't laugh - but nothing happened. So I just tried to twist the top, and surprisingly it worked.

Anywaaaaay, I'm not sure if it's really as effective as it claims. I tried it on an active pimple, and even though it does reduce its size and dry it up, the pimple was already about to be 'ripe'. So I'm not sure if it dried up due to the product, or just because it is time for it to be.
Nonetheless, I'll use it intermittently for now and see if it really works.

All in all, out of all the products, I really like the cleanser the best.
It really does cleanse well and it smells great, so I'm keeping it and am still using it!

Again, please note that there may be differing results for different people. It really depends on the users and how well their skin react to the products.
So, it may or may not work as well for you as it did for me.

If you're interested in getting either of the products, head over to www.beauty-keeper.com and check them out!

Adv: Hiruscar Post Acne Gel

I have been pushing back the publication of this advertorial because I felt like it wouldn't be an accurate depiction of the effects of the product and... well, you'll know why in my review. But it has been long past the deadline, so I shall just do this.

Today I bring to you Hiruscar Post Acne.

Adv: Palmer’s Spray Lotion For Instant Cooling

Spent the entire day with Z at Adventure Cove yesterday!
It seemed random to go on a Wednesday, but really it's because it's the last day of the 1 for 1 promo on Wednesdays!
So we only paid $36 for 2 tickets instead of the usual $36 per ticket.
We got there really early at 10+am and managed to catch all the rides just before the crowd started pouring in!

There weren't any additions and/or changes to the place since the last time we were there, which was about 2 years back.
Unfortunately for us, the rides seemed milder compared to the first time we were there, and many of them were disappointing.
We did however, go on the Amazon River about 3-4 times, and for the full course hahahaha. It goes to show how lazy we were becoming.

Anyway, I packed with me my NIVEA Intensive Lotion with SPF25++, which I reviewed on last year (I bought another 2 more tubes), and Palmer’s Spray Lotion For Instant Cooling, which I just received from Sample Store a few days ago.

Adv: MIEUX by MU Nutrition+ Collagen Beauty Drink {PROMO CODE x REVIEW}

//UPDATE

This is a looooooooong overdue update on the product, but here it is, nevertheless!
Anyway, the product tasted A LOT better after the 1st few bottles.
It started to be kinda tasty, in fact.
I also realised that I could actually down the whole bottle in one shot really quickly, compared to initial small swallows.
Anyway, the trial period was kinda short, so I honestly couldn't tell if it was effective, or not.
Collagen was also supposed to be something taken for a long period for the future. So I really cannot say how my skin changed etc.
In my opinion, it may be a little costly, but if you get it now during the promo period, I feel that it is a steal.
Don't worry, because Mary Chia has just changed the promo period now to 1 Feb - 31 Mar 2015.
There is still about a week till the promo begins, so you can do some research, read up on other reviews etc.

If you read my original post, similarly, this promo allows you to get 1 box of MU MIEUX Collagen Beauty Drink at only S$88 (UPS$108).
First 100 readers can get a complimentary Collagen Facial worth UPS$145/session!
Just call 1800 250 2001 and quote “SAMPLE STORE EXCLUSIVE” followed by “JASMINE QUEK” for redemption.
Again, the offer is valid from 1 Feb - 31 Mar 2015, and available at Mary Chia / Urban Homme outlets island-wide.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hiiiiii, so I’m back with another new product!
Similar to the previous sponsored review, it is also a consumable.

Reduze PRO (FINAL)

Helloooooo!
So it has been more than a month since I started taking Reduze PRO, but I only completed the whole course on Wednesday (10/12/14).
This is because I had to take other pills in between like for my cramps, and I forgot about it...
Which actually, gave me a whole new perspective on the pills. More on this later.

Hellooooo!

I know I haven't done a follow up post on the previous one but I've been really lazy busy!
But y'know, if I didn't post anything bad about it, it means that it was working out great!
As they say, no news is good news! Hahahaha.

Anyway, this time, it's Reduze PRO, which is a product made in the US.

Adv: NIVEA Body Intensive Moisture Serum {CONTEST x REVIEW}

//UPDATE

So I have been pondering all day and I keep thinking if this review can actually be called a sponsored one because I'm supposed to do a review AND promote this product.
And if you've read my post about sponsored posts, you would understand my dilemma.
Hence, I've came to a conclusion. I'm going to do this in 2 parts: The 1st being information about NIVEA's new product, and the 2nd being my actual review.
This way, people who are reading my review (and also myself, so I don't end up shooting myself in my foot with my previous post) don't have to worry about it being a skewed point of view, because I would have already fulfilled the task of providing information about the product earlier on.

So here is my new and updated post!:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DAY 1 (16/9/14 2:38am)

So if you read my previous post, you would have known that I went to Aussie for two weeks in Aug/Sep (still not done editing 9gb worth of photos and videos..).
And as usual, my luggage was thrown together pretty last minute.
Up till 6 hours before our flight, Z and I were still out shopping for last minute essentials.
This meant that I forgot many stuffs especially my skin products like for my pimples and body cream/lotion.
Also as you know, the weather in Aussie is pretty unpredictable with the temperature going as low as 10 degrees and the highest being 28.
This meant that my skin suffered quite a lot because it couldn't adapt to the frequent change in weather! It did not help that I suffered quite a few injuries and cuts from the trip too. I realised that I was actually clumsier than I thought I was.

Luckily, I just received a tube of NIVEA Body Intensive Moisture Serum from Sample Store today and I can't wait to try it out!

Yay my first smartpac!

As previously mentioned, my legs are super dry and feel like snake's skin..
So I'll only be featuring my calves and soles!

Before: Left Calf

Before: Left Sole

Alright, the rest of it will be updated 24 hours later! Stay tuned!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DAY 2 (17/9/14 1:45am)

Hello so I'm back!
But before I start on my review, here is what you need to know about

NIVEA Body Intensive Moisture Serum SPF 25

What's even better, is that you can now win prizes!

Here's my picture!

You're left with only 14 days (I only just realised that..), so hurry!!
Go on to SampleStore.com now to get a free sample and the magnifying glass cut-out~

And now, on to my review...

*Taken before application

Before: Left Calf with NIVEA Serum

Okay I just realised that my photos aren't that clear. But please make do with them, they're taken with my iPhone..
So anyway as you can see, for its texture, it's pretty light and easy to spread - like your typical body moisturiser/lotion.
Its smell is also your typical NIVEA cream and sunscreen. It's a little strong, which may be either a good or bad thing. It doesn't really matter to me because I don't like to use moisturiser in the day, which means that I would be sleeping most of the time when I apply it. Haha.
It's effectiveness... I felt like it did not really live up to its claim of repairing the signs of tight and rough skin in my opinion..

After: Left Calf
After: Left Sole

To be honest... It looks worse lol. I'm not sure what happened. Probably the lighting (even though it's under the same light at the same place), or the way I took the picture?
But my skin looks damn disgusting, like fish scales...
My sole looks better though! I know my feet is damn disgusting lah. A lot of dead skin hahahaha.
However, to be fair, it has only been 24 hours and I only used it once throughout this duration (just before sleep last night after my first post).
I'm going to try it again and try to remember applying it in the day before I leave for school tomorrow. I may post mini updates, as it is simply too tedious to keep having to write long reviews. Also, I'll only be updating on its effectiveness. I don't think I'm able to comment on its sunscreen performance because, how do you rate it?! I think that can only be done in the long term.

Okay that's all for now! Hope my review helped you (though I doubt it).
And as I said, I may post a follow up in a later date about whether it has helped.
Do post any comments or you can drop me an email if you would like to know more about my experience, or if you want to know more about the product.
Meanwhile, do join the contest (it's free, why not?) on Instagram because, hello?! there are prizes!!!
GOOD LUCK! :)

#imafattybombom

Hello! I did a review on Itacho Sushi @ Bedok Mall last week on Christmas.
Do take a look if you're interested in Jap food or are planning to dine there.
And I just realised that I haven't put up a link on my FLog yet, other than in a post that I did previously.

There's also a suggestion form that you could fill up to recommend places/food that I could go to/eat!

Do check it out, I actually spend a lot of time posting and creating the tumblr page!

Bye for now!

Review: A Gift From Marclaire

I think one of the reasons why I love shopping online other than the fact that I don't have to put on nice clothes and leave my house to buy stuff, is the excitement when opening a parcel!
Seriously, am I the only one who absolutely loves opening mails?
Whether it's parcels or small envelopes, I get really hyped while opening.
Especially when they are DHL or FedEx envelopes because of the strip I have to tear to open it up.
If you've opened one, you would know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I think that the reason why I get so excited over snail mail is because everything is now electronic.
Almost everything is now sent through email and in my entire life, I swear I've received less than 20 mails that are sent through snail mail (excluding stuff that I've bought online).
When I was temp-ing at Enerfo, we had a lot of documents and samples to mail out to clients, and they were done through DHL.
I had to fill in carbonised paper, which I swear is one of my favourite things to do. It's damn fun loh?! But now it's done through solely the Internet.
It's kinda sad that everything is so impersonal and digital. I've always liked things better in their physical state than virtual.
I mean it's convenient and eco friendly and all, bad still. In another decade, everything will be done through the Internet. My future kids wouldn't even get to lick stamps.

I digressed. Anywaaaaaay… I received an email from Marclaire a few days ago saying that I was one of the 3 who won the Like & Share contest they conducted.
So I replied with my details and I just received the item! And as explained before, I was obviously psyched when I received the envelope.
Actually I was surprised because I totally forgot about it and was wondering what I had bought until I flipped the envelope and saw the sender.
And so anyway, when they had posted out the item, they asked if I could share a post on it after receiving.
A post would mean a picture lah. Like you know a status update on FB, tweet or a photo shoutout on Instagram. But since I've been trying to re-establish my presence in the social media, namely blogger, I might as well do a post on it right?
I'm having school holidays and jobless, so why not? Kill time for me.

So here it is!

When I got home, I looked up at the prizes for the contest and was touching and trying to guess what I received, I was hoping that I won the watch. But the envelope was soft so I knew I didn't get it.
Was quite disappointed because I really liked the watch.
But this Colour Tassel Unicorn Bracelet looked quite pretty in the photos too, so it wasn't that bad.
Plus if you're close to me, or if we always go/hang out/shop together, you would know that I really like accessories, especially bangles or bracelets.
So, I was quite excited to get a bracelet!
Anyway, I thought that the blue tassel was actually a blue plastic dress.
Hahahahaha whaaat… But really look like leh!

It looks quite nice!

But when I tried it on, like quite weird leh.

Is it? Or is it just me because I don't really like something hanging from my wrist?
I only have one other bracelet which has stuff hanging from it but it's a charm bracelet.
So it's okay lah. Plus the tassel is quite huge, so it's extra weird.
I think I may cut it off.. But I like the colour!
I don't know, I'm quite torn.

Okay, I shall decide again another time.
Maybe show it to Z and see what he says!

Anyway, they have pretty nice accessories, though quite limited.
I think it's because they just started out, like only a month old?
But the stuff are a tad expensive..
This bracelet that I won is $20.

I'm a little budget barbie kind, so I probably wouldn't get this.
But do check them out if you're interested!
