Adv: NIVEA Body Intensive Moisture Serum {CONTEST x REVIEW}

//UPDATE

So I have been pondering all day and I keep thinking if this review can actually be called a sponsored one because I'm supposed to do a review AND promote this product.
And if you've read my post about sponsored posts, you would understand my dilemma.
Hence, I've came to a conclusion. I'm going to do this in 2 parts: The 1st being information about NIVEA's new product, and the 2nd being my actual review.
This way, people who are reading my review (and also myself, so I don't end up shooting myself in my foot with my previous post) don't have to worry about it being a skewed point of view, because I would have already fulfilled the task of providing information about the product earlier on.

So here is my new and updated post!:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DAY 1 (16/9/14 2:38am)

So if you read my previous post, you would have known that I went to Aussie for two weeks in Aug/Sep (still not done editing 9gb worth of photos and videos..).
And as usual, my luggage was thrown together pretty last minute.
Up till 6 hours before our flight, Z and I were still out shopping for last minute essentials.
This meant that I forgot many stuffs especially my skin products like for my pimples and body cream/lotion.
Also as you know, the weather in Aussie is pretty unpredictable with the temperature going as low as 10 degrees and the highest being 28.
This meant that my skin suffered quite a lot because it couldn't adapt to the frequent change in weather! It did not help that I suffered quite a few injuries and cuts from the trip too. I realised that I was actually clumsier than I thought I was.

Luckily, I just received a tube of NIVEA Body Intensive Moisture Serum from Sample Store today and I can't wait to try it out!

Yay my first smartpac!

As previously mentioned, my legs are super dry and feel like snake's skin..
So I'll only be featuring my calves and soles!

Before: Left Calf

Before: Left Sole

Alright, the rest of it will be updated 24 hours later! Stay tuned!

DAY 2 (17/9/14 1:45am)

And now, on to my review...

Before: Left Calf with NIVEA Serum

Okay I just realised that my photos aren't that clear. But please make do with them, they're taken with my iPhone..
So anyway as you can see, for its texture, it's pretty light and easy to spread - like your typical body moisturiser/lotion.
Its smell is also your typical NIVEA cream and sunscreen. It's a little strong, which may be either a good or bad thing. It doesn't really matter to me because I don't like to use moisturiser in the day, which means that I would be sleeping most of the time when I apply it. Haha.
It's effectiveness... I felt like it did not really live up to its claim of repairing the signs of tight and rough skin in my opinion..

After: Left Calf
After: Left Sole

To be honest... It looks worse lol. I'm not sure what happened. Probably the lighting (even though it's under the same light at the same place), or the way I took the picture?
But my skin looks damn disgusting, like fish scales...
My sole looks better though! I know my feet is damn disgusting lah. A lot of dead skin hahahaha.
However, to be fair, it has only been 24 hours and I only used it once throughout this duration (just before sleep last night after my first post).
I'm going to try it again and try to remember applying it in the day before I leave for school tomorrow. I may post mini updates, as it is simply too tedious to keep having to write long reviews. Also, I'll only be updating on its effectiveness. I don't think I'm able to comment on its sunscreen performance because, how do you rate it?! I think that can only be done in the long term.

Okay that's all for now! Hope my review helped you (though I doubt it).
And as I said, I may post a follow up in a later date about whether it has helped.
Do post any comments or you can drop me an email if you would like to know more about my experience, or if you want to know more about the product.
Meanwhile, do join the contest (it's free, why not?) on Instagram because, hello?! there are prizes!!!
GOOD LUCK! :)
